Higher education in Finland
Finland has the so called dual-model in higher education. Traditional universities are based on theory and research, and Universities of Applied Sciences combine theory and practice with the aim of preparing hands on graduates ready for working life. Universities of Applied Sciences emphasise close contacts with business, industry and services and their degrees are designed to meet the changing requirements and development needs of the world of work, having a pronounced occupational emphasis, and qualifying graduates for various expert duties. (CIMO)
Universities of Applied Sciences offer education leading to Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Degrees obtained in Finland are eligible in all European Union countries and all around the world.
